Change and loss are an inevitable part of life. Even positive, longed for changes can cause stress. And death, divorce, and other difficult losses can cause intense pain. My goal is to help people get through these very challenging times.
I’m a psychotherapist with a doctorate in clinical social work, and am dedicated to helping adults and children cope with grief, loss and life transitions. Additionally, I work extensively with people in the arts, an interest fueled by my experiences as an author, newspaper columnist and playwright.
I’m a former chairperson of the Multi-Disciplinary Bereavement Committee at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center. I’ve also served as a special consultant to the Family Division of the New Jersey Superior Court in Ocean County, New Jersey, focusing on the emotional needs of children and parents during the process of separation and divorce. In that capacity I developed a parent education program and accompanying video for divorcing parents. As part of that project, I’ve written an educational handbook, Surviving the Pain of Divorce: Eight Steps for Parents and Children, which has been distributed throughout the state via the family court system.
I practice psychotherapy in Montclair, New Jersey and do telemedicine sessions for New York and New Jersey residents. Click here to visit my Psychology Today profile. Please complete the form below or call 973-509-2320, with any questions about my practice.
